RocketPay's โน10 Crore Funding and Device Recovery Expansion: What It Means for NBFCs
RocketPay announced a โน10 crore funding round in October 2026, led by Sandeep Jain & Group with participation from IPV, LetsVenture, Launch Capital, AVNM Ventures, Navyug Global Ventures, and All In Capital. The investment will support expansion beyond digital EMI collections into technology-enabled recovery of financed devices.
RocketPay confirmed its position as an authorised Asia-Pacific partner of Trustonic, providing access to device-locking technology. The company serves lenders with portfolios ranging from โน300 crore to โน16,000 crore AUM. RocketPay also explicitly advertises web, mobile and API-based collection workflows with rapid onboarding โ not just a developer-only tool.
- Device locking (Trustonic) is relevant only for NBFCs financing the device itself (handset lending, consumer durables). It does not apply to general EMI recovery for personal loans, education loans, or gold loans.
- RBI's revised recovery framework (effective 1 January 2027) permits device restrictions only under specific conditions for loans financing the device โ with borrower safeguards and restrictions on essential functionality.
- For standard EMI collection (school fees, coaching fees, personal loans, MFI loans), device locking is not applicable. FastFee focuses on mandate collection, WhatsApp reminders, PTP tracking, and reconciliation โ not device restrictions.
- RocketPay is now clearly positioned across: EMI collection โ payment-failure prevention โ financed-device recovery. FastFee focuses on the repayment tracking and communication layer.
